Theme Nova is revolutionizing how users manage their WordPress themes. With the imminent launch of their premier theme, Nova One – a premium all-in-one ultra flexible WordPress theme, we’re helping Theme Nova pick some of their sales peripherals. First up: The thumbnail.

This thumbnail appears along side other theme thumbnails — it is the initial representation of the theme. The options include images that focus on the Theme Nova brand, the Nova One theme name and the flexibility of the WordPress theme in highlighting that it is an All-in-One template.

Your mission is to pick up to three of the options above. Help us source which thumbnail is the most appealing to someone seeking out their own ultra flexible WordPress templates for their website. Pick with your heart, with your brain, or anyplace in between (your nose?). No answer is right or wrong, we want your opinion. Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have something to add!

Final Round: Help Theme Nova Pick a Thumbnail for the Nova All-in-One WordPress Theme
  • http://www.arow.biz/ Andreas Wiedow

Option 2 – although not big will be easily recognized over time due to 3 color mix.

  • Liz Pullen

I like #2 & #3 the most and #4 & #5 the least. In them, Nova looks like “No Va” which means “no go” in Spanish.

  • http://twitter.com/mgilstrap19 Michelle Gilstrap

I like 1 the best, but 3 will probably be the one most will pick.

  • http://diethylstilbestrol.co.uk/ DES Daughter

I am one of the few who chose option 5 lol because I like the originality of it. Lots of stuff have been “labelled as” all in one already.  What’s makes your “all in one” different to the others “all in ones”… is the “nova”… therefore I would go for the most original “nova” like #4 or #5… cheers Josh :)

  • http://twitter.com/kingstreetstuds King Street Studios

Version 2 is the easiest to read and most eye catching because of the extra contrast in colors! Cheers

  • http://twitter.com/rubberdragon Rubber Dragon

Sorry, but didn’t really like any of them. I just don’t like the tiny font without anti-aliasing, it’s too small to have any impact and unreadable when multicoloured. Use No.1 but instead of the text at the bottom, use the same font as the large text and just write WordPress. It needs to be associated with WordPress in some way, at the moment that’s not clear without reading the tiny text!

  • http://www.facebook.com/ronromero23 Ron Romero

Option 3, best highlights the product name Nova one.

  • http://www.stichtingmilieunet.nl/andersbekekenblog Milieunet

    Like no 1.

  • http://twitter.com/jruthkelly J. Ruth Kelly

i chose 2, 4 and 5… 2 looks balanced to me. 4 grabs the attention and then reveals more at the bottom. 5 is about balance again and flair. 1 looks crowded to me. 3 would be great if there was no banner at the top. the top bit competes too much with the main pull of the center text. gee, i had a lot to say! :)

  • http://twitter.com/LovingYourLDR Stephen Blake

    Option 3 was my pick

  • Randy Talbot

I liked #3 best  – partly because it was the only one to show the Nova One name and also it seemed balanced without being busy

Number 1  with the just word wordpress in a top bar and T H  E M E (streched) in the bottom bar and don’t repet all “in one” in either of the bars

    or perhaps TOP BAR     T  H  E  M  E

                                       Nova all in one

    Bottom bar                    For WordPress

option 2 I chose – nice color scheme, easy on the eyes

  • http://twitter.com/natsteinmetz Nathalie Steinmetz

I prefer version 1 by far – it’s the one which is the easiest readable. Bot Version 1 and 4 are better than versions 2,3 and 5, IMO, in that I only need to look at two places to read. If you have text above and underneath the logo, my eyes need to jump to these three places in order to get the logo and the text. Also I prefer 1 over 3 because it is more self-explanatory, and NOVA is easier to read than in version 3.

No. 1 without hesitation. It conforms nicely to the way the eye tracks across the page, it is clean, and, it is easy to scan on a single glance.

  • leeroy

     Option 1 for me :)

  • leeroy

     Option 1 for me :)

  • Linda Mayer

I liked #2 because it shows, creatively, exactly WHAT it is.  The name is secondary to me in this case.

  • http://socialpositive.wordpress.com/ Nick

    Option 2 is more balanced.

  • http://twitter.com/jvzelst Jeroen van Zelst

#1 pulls most attention and combines quite some info with the name of the theme. I’d check it out if I saw that thumb. Good luck!

  • Jaime

option 1 made the most sense to me at a glance

  • http://twitter.com/skip7547 Skip7547

I say option 1 and maybe #3 in a distant second

  • http://twitter.com/skip7547 Skip7547

  • Mefance

I voted for the first, but I would prefer to have the “all in one theme” at the bottom omitted (“for wordpress” should remain though). If you delete it the density decreases and the text is much more readable, plus the message is almost unaltered, even though the keyword “theme” is not there anymore (inference)

  • http://twitter.com/SteveCassady Steve Cassady

I like option 2.  It is cleaner than option one and is easier to read than the other options.

  • http://twitter.com/martinjonesaz Martin Jones

    Option 1 – Clear branding -

  • Diana Lewis

I liked the layout of option 3 with Nova One in the center.

  • Diana Lewis

I liked the layout of option 3 with Nova One in the center.

  • a2b Fiber Inc

The marketing dept here is in agreement that we like three the best, clean and simple.

  • MySmartPuppy

#1 – eye scans it smoothly, doesn’t have to go back and figure anything out. Easy, clear, slick!

  • http://www.MagicTrax.net Magic Trax

I preferred the look of 3 and 4 for a few reason: I liked the colors better and the logo placement looked better to me.

  • Stephen Gold

Option 2 has the most orange and the best balance.

  • Stephen Gold

Option 2 has the most orange and the best balance.

  • Barbara Duke

I like #2 and then #3. I think #2 is easily recognized. I love the Simplicity.

  • Fervil Von Tripoli

    Option 2 :) nice color

  • http://twitter.com/Eleisia Eleisia

My choice is #1. I don’t like the position of the letters in NOVA in 4 and 5.

  • http://www.davidsanger.com David Sanger

    prefer 4 and 5 – focussed graphic

  • http://www.dancingdogblog.com Mary Haight

Number three is clean – that’s the one I like =)

  • http://peterparker513.tumblr.com PETER PARKER 513

I love number 3. I love the color combination.

  • Tomlaing

Number 5 was my pick – it seemed the most complete

  • http://t3kd.com Matthew

Option 5. I like it because it is still unique like option 4, but a little cleaner.

  • http://www.wildfirews.com/ Teresa de Grosbois

I like the first one the best.  It gets both your branding and your key message across powerfully. Which ultimately is important in Branding and Marketing.

  • http://twitter.com/fractals john philpin

i like 5 – the product is NOVA – all in one doesn’t add = IMHO – so 4 or 5 – but 5 strikes me as more balanced

  • http://twitter.com/JeffMayernik Jeff Mayernik

Really liked #4 the best and #5 2nd. Judging by the comments that puts me solidly in the minority; guess that’s why I’m not a designer :-)

  • http://twitter.com/Kurisu_Yamato Chris Eldridge

I prefer 1, but 3 and 5 are good as well.  1 Seems the most straightforward in my opinion.. 3 and 5 are good for their balance, but I still prefer 1 as the most natural looking one, in my eyes.

  • Anonymous

I was debating between 1 and 3. Both are very nice. Finally read the post again: the name of the theme is Nova One, right? In #1 the “one” delivers different meaning. So, my vote went for #3

  • s_guest

#2 was my first choice – drew my eye in first – likely the shadow under “one” although I noticed that it doesn’t even say nova.  #1 was my second choice.  Don’t like 4 and 5 at all.

  • Wayne Hurlbert

I liked option #3 as it is clean and simple which works best for a thumbnail

  • Joecheray

Number 1 had better flow text wise, so it got my vote.

  • Renia Snyder

    #2 the best

  • http://twitter.com/intelliron Krishnendu Dutta

The first one for me , looks great and well readable. Looks perfect for branding purpose to me. I also like the no 4.

  • http://twitter.com/valmayuk Valmay Young

Option 3 as it’s nice clean and simple thumbnail.

  • http://twitter.com/plutogg Gayle Garringer

I like 1. Easily read for the fast scanner

  • (e)HANZ

I like option no 5 ..it just simple to the eye and catchy

  • http://twitter.com/PhotosbyHank Henry Plumley

#4 It’s fresh and should stand out among other logos, it also seems to have room to breathe. And after I saw it was 3rd in the race, well I usually root for underdogs. :)

  • Anonymous

options 1, 2 and 3 in that order – I like that the words “all in one” be included

  • maurarabbitte

    I liked option 5. Thanks

  • http://twitter.com/aames Andrea Ames

#1 is easiest to read and most self-explanatory. Nice work!

  • http://twitter.com/tmcrill Tamara McRill

In order: 5, 3, 4. I don’t think words should be repeated in something that small and I like it framed in for focus.

  • Anonymous

I only liked #3, because, as was said, it’s clean and simple.  #2 looks good; but doesn’t says “Nova.”  #1 is ways to crowded looking and redundant for me; but I choose 1,2,3.  4 and 5 are too cliché for my taste.

  • http://twitter.com/ITCompanies EcoOnlineAdvertising

    I like 2 and 1

  • http://twitter.com/ITCompanies EcoOnlineAdvertising

    I like 2 and 1

  • http://disqus.com/stjepanradic/ Stjepan Radic

Graphic designer First theme is made to perfection.
    Nova all in one
Any theme is hard to single out as the best.
The first theme is most striking at first glance as the greatest features of the brand.

  • http://www.performanceinsiders.com/ageless-male.html Ageless Male

    i like 1 and number 4 :) )

  • http://www.bed-adjustable.co.uk/waterbeds/ Waterbeds

    looks like better number 1 & 2

  • http://www.bed-adjustable.co.uk/waterbeds/ Waterbeds

    looks like better number 1 & 2

  • Clausottesen

I go for option 3. It looks balanced in simple! Thanks for the missin.

  • http://www.gowebbaby.com/ WordPress Developer

It is a well executed post. I like the diagram most. It is a
helpful informative post. Thanks for sharing this great information.
